SIGHT SEEING

EKLUTNA LAKE

A must see while in Anchorage. Breathtaking views. There’s a place to rent a kayak or bicycle right by the lake. Can Uber there but recommending Turo. About 45 minutes drive North from the hotel. 

REFLECTIONS LAKE

Even if you’ve been to a reflection lake before - you must see this one. Worth the drive and the ~1 mile walk around the lake. About 30 minutes drive North from the hotel. Free. 

FLATTOP MOUNTAIN

About 25 minutes drive South of Anchorage. You can go for a short 5 minutes hike to see beautiful views or an hour hike (uphill) to see even better views from the top. 

ALYESKA SKI RESORT

To enjoy the views from the top of the mountain you will need to take the gondola ($45 per person). Beautiful views. About 45 minutes drive South of Anchorage.

PORTAGE LAKE

About 1 hour South of Anchorage this beautiful jam is tucked away and surrounded by glorious mountains. You can take the ferry if you want to experience the Portage Glacier. 

BYRON GLACIER

About 1 hour South of Anchorage. Due to warm weather, this Glacier is melting quite fast. If you happen to be in the area   

HWY 1 South - SCENIC ROUTE

This 2 lanes road stretches over 50 miles of endless water and mountain views. You can take the train from Anchorage toward Seward but will not have the chance to stop for photos along the way. Rent a car.... it's worth it. 

ALASKA WILDLIFE CONSERVATION CENTER

About an hour south to Anchorage you'll find this conservation center. This is the easiest way to see the Alaskan animals that you don't see in most other states.  

TONY KNOWLES COASTAL TRAIL

About 20-25 minutes bike ride Southwest to downtown Anchorage. 

Beautiful trails to walk and bike. 

POINTS OF INTEREST IN DOWNTOWN ANCHORAGE

Alaska Museum

Try not to miss this if you have 2 hours to spare while you’re in the downtown area. Admission is free for FAs. Lots of exhibits and shows. Highly recommending.

Aurora Show

Free admission to FAs. It’s a 10 minutes educational presentation of the Aurora phenomena, followed by 30 minutes of slideshows.  Super relaxing :)

Alaska Wild Berry Products

Are you a chocolate fan? Are you in downtown Anchorage? Check this one out. 

FOOD & DINING

Bear Paw Bar & Grill

3-5 minutes walk from the hotel. Excellent variety of food and flavors. 

Moose's Tooth Pizzeria

Can you imagine your pizza? You can find it there. They will add whatever toppings you want and surely have some toppings you've never heard of. 20-25 minutes walk from the hotel.   

49th State Brewery

This pub in downtown Anchorage has beautiful setting with a large outdoor wood deck and great music. 

Snow City Cafe

Very popular breakfast restaurant in downtown Anchorage. Great menu to choose from. You must arrive early or expect to wait for your table. No advanced reservations. 

Humpy's Great Alaskan Alehouse

Unique indoor and outdoor restaurant with a different style menu. If you're in the downtown area and ready to have lunch or dinner - stop by and check out the menu and daily specials. 

10th & M Seafood Market

If you're downtown and want to try fresh and high quality seafood - check this market out. They will also pack it for you so that you can take it home and on the plane.  

F Street Station

Highly recommended by crew members. Located in Downtown Anchorage.  

TRANSPORTATION

Car Rental

Local business owner rents out good quality vehicles with competitive (and many times unbeatable) rates. Pick up location is a walking distance from the hotel. Call Kirill at 907-727-4699. Let him know that you found his information on this website. 

Turo

There's a Turo pick up spot less than a mile away from the hotel. About 20 minutes walk. 

Bicycle Rentals

Alaska Pablo's Bicycle Rentals provides discount to airline employees. There are a couple of bike rental shops in downtown Anchorage. Other than riding around downtown, a popular ride is the Coastal Trail that will take you toward the airport, ending at Point Woronzof Road where you can watch planes' departures and landings. About 45 minutes ride each direction.
